IN OTHER NEWS:

The World Championships of Freestyle Kayaking just ended in Penrith, Australia. Check www.doubleyouess.com for lots of info on the event and tons of photos. Wave Sport boats and athletes fared very well at the event, taking four medals, including two golds!

Jutta Kaiser of Germany paddled an EZG 42 to victory in the womens class, earning her first Gold Medal after winning the bronze in 2003. She’s an incredible paddler and super cool person, very stoked on paddling! Big props to Jutta for keeping the Wave Sport womens streak going (Wave Sport women have won the gold medal in every freestyle World Championships since 1999).

Alan Ward of the United Kingdom paddled a Zero Gravity to victory in the mens junior class. Alan is one of the UKs up and comers and paddled super consistently in this event to take home the gold. Congratulations, we’ll be seeing a lot more from this kid I’m sure!

Todd Baker, US junior prodigy, walked away with the Bronze medal after blowing it up all week in practice in his ZG. He was throwing huge loops and clean backblunts, with many of his rides competing with the mens senior class! I’m sure he’s a little disappointed that he didn’t win, but hey, he’s only 16!!! Congrats to Todd (who also won the junior IR Big Gun Show this past year in a ZG)

In the C1 division Kynan Maley of Australia paddled his ZG to Bronze medal position with some sick rides! The C1ers really took advantage of their leverage and were doing tons of clean blunts and backblunts, much tougher for the K1 class!
